About

I’m Dave Sankey, a senior operator and product leader who’s spent years inside fast-moving organisations where the mission matters and the constraints are real: limited time, limited attention, and decisions that echo for years.

My work sits at the seam between strategy and execution. That seam is where good companies either compound… or quietly stall.

Over time, I found a pattern: the hardest moments aren’t about ideas. They’re about alignment, trade-offs, and follow-through.

Most teams don’t need more ambition. They need:

  • a clearer view of what matters now

  • fewer competing priorities

  • decision-making that doesn’t drag

  • ownership that’s real, not ceremonial

  • operating rhythms that turn plans into progress

That’s what I bring. Not magic — just craft, clarity, and momentum.

What you can expect from working with me

  • Calm urgency. We move quickly, but we don’t flail.

  • Straight talking. I’ll name the thing under the thing.

  • Systems over heroics. Progress shouldn’t rely on you carrying everything.

  • Respect for people. No blame culture. No performative toughness.

  • Practical outcomes. You’ll leave with decisions made and work unblocked.

The kinds of problems I’m usually brought in for

  • Strategy that exists, but isn’t translating into delivery

  • Product, engineering, and commercial teams pulling in different directions

  • Delivery that’s chaotic: too many initiatives, too little throughput

  • Leaders overloaded, teams uncertain, accountability fuzzy

  • Operating models that grew accidentally and now creak under pressure

Where I tend to be most useful

  • Businesses moving from “scrappy and fast” to “scaled and repeatable”

  • Organisations with a strong mission and real-world constraints

  • Teams who want clarity, momentum, and higher-quality decisions

A note on style

I’m not a big “personal brand” person. I care about doing the work well. If we work together, you’ll get someone who will:

  • listen properly

  • challenge kindly but firmly

  • help you make the hard choices

  • and stay close enough to execution that it actually changes things
